Where are my shark lovers?!
I love aquatic animals. More specifically, I love sharks, and so does my little one. That's why when I came across this
navy coloured hoodie, it stood out to me.
The
sevengill, for those who may not know, is a type of deepwater shark. One that inspired Dana of Sevengill Design to start screen-printing her own shirts, after she realized that they were under represented in the design world. Since then she has branched off to include other animals that she feels are as unusual, and under appreciated as this one. You can find her prints on tees, tanks, hoodies, onesies, and in all sizes from women and men, to children and babies.
I love this sweater. Since Emily just turned 2 in November, I requested a size 2 and it fits pretty well. Since she's on the petite side for her age group she still has a bit of growing room, which is perfect! The longer an item of clothing lasts for us, the better. I just flip up her sleeves so they don't get in her way while she's trying to do stuff.
The front has 44 sharks, each one of them different. It's neat to be able to see the subtle differences between them, and to try and name the ones I know (which really, is just the hammerhead lol). If I feel so inclined one day I may look up what each one is, just for fun. I had no idea there were that many. But until then I'm just going to keep guessing.

The hoodie is of good quality construction, but I found the sweatshirt material a tad thin for our weather up here in Canada. The hood itself was nice and thick though, so I appreciated that. After a few washes it still looks as good as new, and I haven't started to notice any wear or fading of the sharks so far.
Emily loves her new sweater too. It's one of the ones that she chooses to wear out a lot. If I give her two options, 9 times out of 10 she'll reach for her shark sweater. And if I can get her to put on clothes at all, well that's a win in my books. :)
